An entry permit is a document that allows foreigners to lawfully enter and stay in the United Arab Emirates for the time period specified. When a foreigner has already entered the nation using an entry permit, a resident visa is issued to him or her.

Everything You need to know about Entry Permit Visa

An entry permit is a document granted by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security that permits foreigners to lawfully enter and stay in the United Arab Emirates for a set length of time. The document could be in paper or electronic format.

Through GDRFA's online and offline channels, the party supporting the individual who wishes to enter the UAE will conduct the entrance permit transaction. A commercial corporation, a government agency, a relative, a UAE-based airline, or a hotel, for example, could be the sponsor.

Various sorts of entry permits are available depending on your reason for visiting the UAE. Here are a few examples:

  • Entry Permit - Employment
  • Entry Permit - Family Visit
  • Entry Permit - Tourism/Transit
  • Entry Permit - Treatment
  • Entry Permit - Mission
  • Entry Permit - Attending Conferences.

Validity of Entry Permits

The validity date of the entry permit refers to the time during which the entry permit must be utilized to enter the UAE by one of the country's entry points, such as land borders, airports, or seaports. The validity of most entry permits is two months. Entry permits cannot be extended; they immediately expire after their time limit has passed.

The length of each entry permit's stay varies depending on the type of entry permit. Entry permits for transit, for example, allow a person to stay in the country for four days, whereas entry permits for employment allow an employee to stay in the country for two months, after which his sponsor must either change the employee's status to a residence visa or the employee must leave within the time limit.

The holder of an entry permit does not change his status to a residence visa, he must either leave the country when his entry permit expires to avoid fines and penalties, or renew within the allowed time frames, according to new laws.
